To the French Coast

We’re coasting to the beach… making our way to Vannes before driving up and around to catch the ferry. The vibe is much the same… very rustic, very French. It’s a public holiday so not much is open, but we’re happy for a look around and a bit of a stroll. France is jam packed with cute towns like these… so many to choose from, these are nice.

Our Tour de France

Out of the Loire Valley and into Laval… we’ve spent a couple of days exploring Angers and Nantes, and now enjoying the town of Laval, even capturing a look at the Tour de France as it rolls through town. Pretty chill few days, camping and cruising at a nice easy pace.

Chateau D’Usse… Sleeping Beauty

We wanted to tour this Chateau because it looked the most fairytale like, both inside and outside, and because of the inspiration here for Sleeping Beauty. We had a great time here and it did not disappoint. Gorgeous, rustic and charming.

Amboise cycling Tours

We hired e bikes for a ride along the river from Amboise to Tours return. About 30km each way we rode as the track weaved around vineyards, through old villages and along the rivers edge. A nice little journey we had there and worth booking an extra night to enjoy the sun. Highly recommend.

Quirky fence to stop a while

Chateau Hopping

Getting into the swing of things here in the Loire Valley, with a trip along to see another beautiful Chateau. This one’s especially pretty and built over the river as a bridge which makes it unique. After the rain, we stay one night in a hotel before booking another night camping on an island in Amboise. There’s a lot to see in the town, with the big Chateau on the hill, the nice old town and caves built into the cliff. A really pretty town on the rivers edge.
