Montenegro Mountains

I never knew Montenegro was so hilly, my gosh it is dynamic. The landscape, mountains rising up almost vertically out of the Fiord, wow. We’ve been in Kotor for a couple of days, roaming. It was raining, so we opted out of climbing the 1300 steps up to the fortress and decided instead to drive up the Serpentine Road for the best views by far.

High on Dubrovnik

Todays jaunt was all about getting high… as we walked up the zig zag path to the cable car lookout… what a breathtaking view all the way to the top.

As we walked up to the other fort, the colour of the sea was just a gob smacking sight. I’m in love with this place… it’s just the most amazingly beautiful city.

Museum hopping in the old town lol

Dubrovnik… Jewel of the Crown

It’s a stunning picture… it’s so so blue, it’s like a sapphire amongst a backdrop of rocks. Dubrovnik is even more stunning in real life than I’d imagined and it wasn’t too busy. I think we’re finally put the puffer jackets away and hit some real warmth. Beautiful walk around the walls today, bliss.

Mediterranean Bluebird

It’s been a great day… driving down the coast between Split and Dubrovnik has to be one of the world’s great drives. We went the coastal way, avoiding the toll roads. If you’re looking for the best quiet little places, I’d visit here in spring, it’s a Bluebird day alright and we’re feeling good.

Beachfront cafe, so good

Small town of Omis… don’t blink or you’ll oh miss it

Split… here’s the Sun

We’ve been waiting to see the blue waters and sky of the Mediterranean and it’s worth the wait. What a view. We’re enjoying our beachside accommodation just south of Split at Podstrana.  With a walk around town and along the peninsula, it’s been a truly relaxing break. You get really great deals on accommodation this time of year, and we’re taking advantage of some excellent accommodation.
