What a journey we’ve had today, driving through Snowdonia National Park. The rugged landscape, the cottage towns and flowing rivers are out of a storybook. I took lots of pics as usual… here goes
Rustic, the stonework here is awesome
Villages through the mountains
Portmerion, village by the sea
We’re staying down the road from Caernarfon Castle… it’s big and bold and certainly old
Stopping off in Chester to have a walk around makes a great mornings start. The town is intriguing in detail and historic, with ancient Roman walls to walk and buildings to stare at all day. We had a great time here, we beat the crowds and headed off to Liverpool for the afternoon. Taking in the city centre, the docks and the famous music scene, and of course visiting Everton to top it all off. Great cities, both interesting and good to tick off.
We’re having a Whale of a time roaming around Wales. It’s very much like NZ in almost every way, except way more history here and lots and lots of Castles. On our way up the coast we had an unexpected stop in Llarnath, a small village we were busy driving through at the time. Its times like this we appreciate the comfort of a BnB, the friendliness of the pub and the nearby mechanic. After 2 days we’re back on the road again and on our way to Ireland, it’s a very beautiful place to call home for now.
