Pamplona… No Bull

We took a side trip to Pamplona today as we make our way across Northern Spain. Another interesting city to explore on foot, we enjoyed the best coffee and croissant, while making our way around all the streets the bulls would run.  We’re really getting back into the colourful Spanish vibe as we head to Portugal, and hopefully out of the rain.

A nice place for a stroll

Detailed churches and buildings

Colourful streets and cafes

The countdown to the next race is on

Sand in San Sebastian

Hola, we’re in San Sebastian in Spain. We were keen to come back and see more, especially to visit Portugal too. We’ve given ourselves a few weeks to look around and do some camping. We’re in Basque Country so indulging in some Basque cheesecake was on the cards. Looking forward to seeing what this place has to offer. I’m sure we won’t go hungry, there’s always a tapa bar open somewhere.

Same hair style lol

Interesting fort on the hill… San Telmo

Birds of a Feather

Tapas galore… works of art

Another beautiful old town to explore

Footloose in Toulouse

We started our day in Toulouse, and what a relaxing morning. It was pretty quiet being Easter Sunday and being pretty tired, we loved the calm and quiet atmosphere. Street vendors were busy setting up stalls and the city streets became a rustic open air antique shop… which was interesting. We love just strolling through cities like this, there’s always so much to see. It feels rich and clean here… probably the contrast of orange and blue, and beautiful facades. Detailed iron work in every balcony, an exotic touch.

Reflections in the river, an expansive view

An arty feel about the place, and rightly so

Laneways in the old town are great for walking

A youthful city, Toulouse is worthy of spending time

Pretty in Provence

We’re in the South of France… It’s just a flying visit this time as we’ll be coming back next month. There’s a lot to see here and it’s the only place we’ve been in Europe so far that I can imagine living. Maybe it’s the similarity to home, or the lush surroundings, I don’t know, but it’s very beautiful and waiting to be explored in depth. After camping last night, we went to Avignon, the Pont du Gard Bridge and followed up with a visit to Uzez. That’s a pretty town and had an amazing market. Driving through the rain, we’re currently in Toulouse, figuring out tomorrows itinerary. We’ve changed direction and really want to explore Spain and Portugal more before picking up the family and heading to Nice.
