Back to Bangkok

We took a few long bus trips through Cambodia on our tour, and we're back in Bangkok to finish our holiday. There's lots to do here and we crack on... starting with a tour to the train street market and the floating market. Both were great, both full of tourists and both great to Tick off.

Asiatique, Bangkok

We took a tour down to Pattaya and the island of Koh Larn. Both great to see, however being rainy season, snorkeling was off the cards. We hired a little scooter and zipped around the Island. I find places like this quite relaxing after all the city noise. Such a basic way of life.

Iconsiam, Bangkok

It's been truly incredible this whole trip. Too much to write or say, but the things we've experienced and seen along the way have changed us for the better. We're looking forward to going home and seeing our family again. We've enjoyed every minute. Loved it all.

Angkor Wat & Temples

A full on day lay ahead with a visit to Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm and Bayon Temples.  So much to see and take in...

...I Think the photos say it all.  It was Epic.

Our time in Siam Reap was great. It's a really cool little city to hang out in. Cool markets  yummy food and of course so much history. You could spend days here exploring.

We finish our time here with a trip to the floating village in Tonle Sap Lake. Pretty muddy, but cool to see a different way of life.

Intrepid Cambodia

We leave Vietnam on our first Intrepid Tour... 9 days through Cambodia, ending in Bangkok.  There's 11 of us on the tour, from NZ, Aussie and England. Good sized group for the tour and the people are great.

First stop is Phnom Penh... with a dinner boat cruise booked, followed by the usual tour of the Genicide Museum and Killing Fields.  Pretty grim stuff. It's a heavy day that one. Phnom Penh was interesting... was more Modern than I was expecting in some places and we found a good roof top bar overlooking the city.

The Genicide Museum was pretty eerie. There were survivors there selling books of their torture, one man was 94 years old. That brought it home how horrible this place was. Brutal.

After driving to Batembang, we had a bit of a tour around the countryside visiting some local producers. It was really interesting seeing how these families make and sell their products. Makes you appreciate how easy we have things back home.

Rice Paper drying in the sun

It really felt intrepid, this part of the tour and we really felt a part of something authentic.  It's what we came here for really and the tour definitely delivered.

Searching Saigon

We're back in the city lights and loving the vibe. Staying in a different part of Ho Chi Minh City this time, we're getting ready to meet our tour group tonight at our hotel.  We've booked a 9 day tour through Cambodia, finishing up at Bangkok. Looking forward to exploring this fascinating country and all it has to offer, good and bad. There'll be things that shock us I know, but it's all part of traveling. You take the good with the bad.

Night walks are always a bonus snd we're off to a cute little place called Den Long, Home Cooked Vietnamese Restaurant. I love everything about this place, the decor, the food, it's beautiful.

There's time to catch up and just enjoy.  There's something cool about being second time visitors here, there's no pressure for doing tourist stuff.

Getting ready for The next adventure, we're off for a bowl of Beef Pho and a few snacks for the journey. Vietnam is awesome, a bit hectic at times but you can really vibe here too and race through the market. 'Dry fish skin ma'am'... "No thanks", we're driving hehe.
