Interlaken and into Thun

What a peaceful place this is… waking up in the mountains for a day beside the water. The beautiful colours here are an edible feast. Mountains so high you strain your neck, valleys so lush and overflowing with greenery. A full days tour around is just what was needed.

Walking the Eiger Trail

I never thought I’d hike around this place, but walking the Eiger Trail today was actually pretty fun. We started the day driving through the mountains to Grindelwald to take the gondola up to the top of the mountain. The drive was great, including the train ride through a massive tunnel and our campsite for 2 days has the best mountain views all around.

Milan to Matterhorn

We’re finishing our time in Italy with a quick visit to Milan and another airport drop off before heading into Switzerland. It’s been a busy and incredible trip around the north of Italy.

First up was a stay in Tasch to take the train to Zermatt. We’re back to camping again… and the odd spatter of rain.

Drifting Lake Como

Day 2 and were combing over a few small towns, ferry hopping between Menaggio, Bellagio and Varenna for a full day of enjoying Lake Como. This area is really enticing and we’re loving the pace here. A beautiful place to gelato the afternoon away. I love the gardens here.

Looking out over Lugano

We’re enjoying the easy pace of the lakes and mountains, staying between Lakes Como and Lugano. After a hot drive from Milan, the air here is refreshing and the views even better. We spent a full day exploring Lake Lugano, nipping into Switzerland for an afternoon stroll. It feels very ordered here, and serene. The scenery is magic.

Our accommodation… a huge lawn for deer and foxes to feed at dusk. High up in the hills.
