East coast venturing

Exploring the East coast up to Peterhead from Dundee. We camped last night in a wild flower field, woke up this morning and made the most of the weather. The coastline is lovely, pretty dramatic cliffs and a couple of good castle ruins along the way.

Beach and wild horses

Filling up on coastal ingredients as we headed to Stirling from Edinburgh, taking a look along the coastline and a few castles along the way. It’s such a gentle pace here, and loving the mix of sea and stone.

Reign in Edinburgh

Driving into Scotland felt easy, a bit like coming home. Tho we’re not Scottish, it feels and looks a lot like New Zealand, scenery wise that is. But the cities and villages are just so old and steeped in history. We loved Edinburgh, even if it rained all day. It had a nice air around it.

Very old and sharp grey. Felt medieval

Scottish fashion… the only people I saw wearing a kilt in the city were tour guides

Nice walk around the city

Into Newcastle… or is that Oldcastle

Hello England… so much has happened since we last saw you, where do we begin?
We’re up in Newcastle at the moment, going to Edinburgh in the morning for a few days. It was nice to be in Yorkshire today, it really felt like home.

Enjoying coffee and scones at Sids Cafe in Holmfirth, where Last of the Summer Wine was filmed. I can still hear my dad laughing hahaha.
